How do you support and manage your Volunteers?

Submitted by Alice Gaskell on

Volunteers Week is a great opportunity to take time to appreciate and thank your Volunteers for all they do to support your organisation. As the week draws to a close, we're going to look at some of the simple tools that CiviCRM offers to allow you to track of the great work your volunteers do, as well as say "Thank you" to them on a regular basis which may help qualify and quantify the work they do for your organisation.

Is CiviCase right for my organisation?

Submitted by Heather Oliver on

We've been talking to a lot of our clients recently about CiviCase and how it could be implemented for new programmes of client support they have been undertaking.

What is CiviCase?

CiviCase is a case management tool for tracking and managing sequences of interactions between your organisation and contacts in CiviCRM. You could also use it to manage internal organisational interactions, like Volunteer Recruitment. It's suitable for any scenerio where you need to track a series of interactions around a single topic.

A(nother) year in support 2016-2017

Happy New Support Year!

It's hard to believe another support year has passed! GMCVO Databases are moving into our 8th year of supporting the VCSE with CiviCRM and it's been another busy year. We've had two new colleagues Mike and Alice join the team in 2016/17 to help support with the increased number of clients and development we've been doing.

We're excited to announce that CiviCamp Manchester (the first UK CiviCamp) will be held here at the St Thomas Centre on Thursday March 9th

What is CiviCamp?

It will be a one day mini-conference about everything CiviCRM

How is that different from CiviCon?

Well, for a start it's shorter (just one day, rather than two). And for another thing it's here in Manchester.

But the main difference is that CiviCamp has a greater focus on how CiviCRM Users can get the most out of their systems.

What does implementing a CRM cost and what is the financial case for CiviCRM?

Submitted by Jon-man Cheung on

Every decision your organisation makes will have a financial implication, projects cost money and there’s no getting away from it.  When implementing a CRM you should consider what functions you need and how much it costs to support and sustain them.

In our opinion, the greatest advantage of CiviCRM is that you can benefit from all its features in one single system.  This means you don’t have the cost of purchasing software/licences and maintaining multiple systems that carry out separate activities (such as mailings, event management, fundraising, memberships/subscriptions).
